Things to Do

We are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. This really is the place "Where the mountains meat the sea".

Below is just a small selection of activities you can immerse yourself in whilst you stay with us.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

The Mawddach Estuary offers the perfect back drop to try out SUP. Drop in at Barmouth and let the tide take you all the way to Penmaenpool and the George III Public house for a refreshing drink. In early summer we will be offering paddleboard trips along the estuary using or fleet of boards.

Timings and availability will be tide dependent.

For the novice looking for a SUP taster we offer sessions in the local lake. This is perfect for families looking to try out this new sport. All equipment is provided and also transportation to and from the lake. Just enquire for availability on booking

MOUNTAIN BIKING

We are fortunate enough to be in the center of the best mountain bike area in the country!! Coed Y Brenin trail center is a 10 minute drive away, perfect for families and experts alike.  For the more experienced riders Dyfi Bike Park and Antur Stiniog are 25 minutes drive. We can provide secure bike storage for your bikes and offer a range of tools and equipment should yo need it.

Also as a British Cycling Level 2 MTB Leader and coach Rob can provide guided rides around the area on request.

We can also organise bike hire for your group if you would like to try MTB for the first time or don't want to bring your own bike with you.

Walking

Whether it is a lovely woodland stroll your looking for direct from the Yurt door or a more serious mountain adventure the area really does have it all.

We provide maps and guide books for the local trails and can also offer advice on tackling the bigger summits on offer. The Cadair Idris is a very poplar walk to take on, you can view its magnificent summit from the Yurt. We are in the foothills of the Rhinogydd mountain range, these walks can be accessed without the need for a car just head out of the back gate and enjoy an adventure in secluded woods and moorland.

We can offer advice for any level of ability, we walk these trails daily so there is something for everyone, just don't forget your boots!!

Wild Swimming

For those who enjoy a cold dip the area is awash with secluded swim spots. We don't advertise these hidden gems but can offer advice on the best spots when you get here.
